Ticker Cup documentation.

The operating rules for a five-session stock knockout. Times are shown in UTC and unresolved production dependencies are labeled directly.

Pre-launch specification

Overview

Ticker Cup is a weekly stock knockout played across five official US market sessions. The opening field contains 32 eligible stocks. After every close, the field is ranked and cut in half until one stock remains as the weekly champion.

  1. Session 132 → 16
  2. Session 216 → 8
  3. Session 38 → 4
  4. Session 44 → 2
  5. Session 52 → 1

Players do not stake against one another and do not lose their locked CUP when a prediction fails. The lock proves participation for one session; the original token amount is released after that session settles.

One wallet. One stock. One session.Every eligible wallet receives one selection during each entry window. Holding or locking more CUP does not create additional votes or a larger reward share.

Market schedule

All published product times use UTC. Entries are accepted only after the previous official US market close and before the next official open. At the opening bell, selections are locked and no new wallet can enter that session.

A normal fee epoch runs from one official market-open timestamp to the next. Weekends and market holidays extend the epoch; fees collected during that period fund the next session that actually runs.

Stock roster

The opening roster contains 32 equities with active Robinhood brokerage pages. The full field, including each company logo and ticker code, is published on the Play page. Brokerage availability does not confirm Robinhood Chain stock-token coverage.

  • The published opening field contains 32 stocks; initial seed order remains provisional until the entry window opens.
  • Only stocks still alive in the tournament appear in the next session.
  • A stock may be removed before entry opens if it is halted, delisted, affected by a corporate action, or missing reliable data.
  • The roster cannot change after selections lock unless the pre-published exception policy applies.

Entry and CUP lock

Each wallet selects one active stock and locks a fixed CUP amount worth approximately USD 10 for that session. The contract uses the CUP amount published when the entry window opens; later token-price movement does not change the amount for that session.

The lock is not the prize pool.Session rewards come from the applicable CUP trading fees assigned to that fee epoch. Player principal remains separate from reward accounting.

Ranking and the daily cut

Only regular-session OHLC data is used. Each active stock is ranked by candle-body return:

(regular close − regular open) ÷ regular open

The highest returns advance. The cut is based on the size of the current field: 16 advance from 32, 8 from 16, 4 from 8, 2 from 4, and 1 from 2.

Boundary ties

The tie-breaker matters only when equal candle-body returns sit directly across the qualification boundary.

  1. Non-negative tied returns: the stock with the higher regular-session upper excursion advances.
  2. Negative tied returns: the stock with the smaller adverse lower excursion advances.
  3. Exact OHLC tie: the seed order published before entries opened decides the position.

Intraday wicks do not replace the candle-body ranking. High or low data is consulted only for the boundary tie described above.

Fee accounting

Ticker Cup assigns the CUP trading fees collected during each fee epoch to one competition session. The applicable trading-fee rate and collector contract will be published before token launch; this document does not claim a final rate before deployment.

70%Player reward pool

Reserved for wallets whose selected stock advances in the corresponding session.

30%Team treasury

Reserved for future product development, operations, security, market-data infrastructure, and project marketing.

The epoch closes at the official market open. Its allocation is fixed for that session and is not carried as a discretionary reserve, except when no eligible winning wallet exists.

Rewards and claims

A wallet may submit its claim request immediately after the official market close. Submission records the request as pending; it does not confirm eligibility or trigger an immediate payout. After the result data is processed, every wallet that selected an advancing stock becomes eligible for the session reward. The full 70% player pool is divided equally by eligible wallet count, not by CUP balance, lock size, stock popularity, or entry time.

reward per wallet = player pool ÷ eligible winning wallets
  • If an advancing stock has no participating wallet, its absence does not remove any part of the player pool. The complete pool is still shared by all other eligible winning wallets.
  • If no wallet selected any advancing stock, the session reward carries into the next competition session.
  • Phase-one rewards are paid in ETH. A later phase may use the winning Robinhood Chain stock token only after contract, liquidity, transferability, halt, and slippage checks pass.
  • Early claim requests remain pending until reward processing is complete.
  • The seven-day payout window begins when the verified reward becomes available, so processing time does not reduce the user's claim period.
  • Ticker Cup charges no additional claim fee. The wallet still pays normal network gas when an onchain action is required.
  • An available reward that remains unclaimed after seven days moves to the team treasury.

Team treasury

Thirty percent of every fee epoch is allocated to the Ticker Cup team treasury. This is operating capital, not part of the player reward pool and not part of any wallet's locked CUP principal.

Intended use

  • Future project development: contracts, security work, market-data infrastructure, settlement services, interface improvements, and new reward integrations.
  • Project marketing: community campaigns, partnerships, launch communication, and user acquisition.

These are intended uses rather than guaranteed spending targets. Expired claims also move to the team treasury after the seven-day claim window. Publishing the production treasury address with the contract set remains a planned disclosure and will be confirmed before launch.

This is the reserved publication area for the only official CUP token contract. Do not buy, approve, or transfer a token based on an address posted elsewhere.

Settlement and market data

The result service must use a reliable source for official regular-session open, high, low, and close values. Live quotes may be displayed for orientation, but they cannot replace the final settlement dataset.

  1. The official session closes and claim requests open.
  2. Submitted requests remain marked as pending.
  3. The settlement service retrieves the regular-session OHLC values.
  4. The ranking, any boundary tie-breaker, eligible wallets, and reward amounts are calculated.
  5. The result and source record are published, then eligible rewards become payable.
Production settlement is not live. The final OHLC provider, oracle design, competition contracts, and settlement service must be deployed, tested, and disclosed before entries can open.

Market exceptions

  • Weekend or US market holiday: no round runs; the longer fee epoch funds the next official session.
  • Early market close: the published official close replaces the normal 20:00 UTC observation time.
  • Trading halt: the pre-published halt policy determines whether the stock remains eligible or the session is paused.
  • Corporate action or delisting: the affected stock may be removed only under the policy published before selection.
  • Missing or conflicting data: settlement pauses until the source can be verified; the team must not substitute an unpublished price.
  • Chain congestion or contract failure: unlocking and claims may be delayed, but the published result and accounting record remain reviewable.

Risk notice

CUP and ETH are volatile assets. The USD 10 entry reference does not guarantee that locked CUP keeps the same market value while it is locked. Trading fees and session rewards depend on actual token activity and may be small or zero.

Smart-contract transactions can fail or cost more than expected. Market-data outages, chain congestion, token liquidity, contract vulnerabilities, or emergency pauses can delay settlement and claims. Never connect a wallet or sign a transaction from an unverified domain, and verify the CUP contract against this page before interacting with it.
